The Asterby Group of parishes is a group of 8 churches beautifully situated in the Horncastle Deanery, in the Lincolnshire Wolds, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. We aspire to be a supportive, selfless Christian community. We want to achieve better communication with our villages and our churchgoing membership. Our next service is a service with Holy Communion and is on Sunday 16th November at St Andrew’s Church, Donington on Bain, starting at 10:00am.

News

November 2025: Advent gatherings – part of ‘Between Sundays’. The Ministry Team have been exploring how we can encourage one another in our faith between Sundays. We are looking at weekday meetings, daytime and/or evenings, which run a ‘theme’ for a number of weeks.

The first of these will be during Advent. A short series of 5 sessions following a book by Keith Duke, called “Journeying with the Magi”. It will be held at All Saints’ Church (heated!), Goulceby, starting Wednesday 12^th November, 7pm, and then weekly concluding on 10^th December. Each session will be about 90 minutes, and refreshments will be served. These sessions, when run in the past, have provided a welcome respite from the rush around Christmas and pull us back to the reason for the festival. Please speak to your service leader, church warden or contact Neil Walker on 07771 861202 if you are interested. Everyone is welcome – regular or not.

August 2025: All Saints’ Church, Goulceby, have received a grant from the Lincolnshire Community Foundation to make the church more accessible and address some problems with interior plasterwork. See Goulceby‘s page for more details.
